Outside Scholarships are not awarded by the government or Cal Maritime and are funded through a private sector company, philanthropist or foundation.

Several reputable free scholarship search services are available. You shouldn’t ever pay for scholarship searches. Many of these sites also have valuable information and advice on how to research and apply for scholarships.

If you have applied to and have already been awarded an outside scholarship, make sure that your donor or the scholarship agency sends the check to the correct office to ensure your scholarship is applied to your student account.
