Checkout Season
It's about that time! To make things easier for your upcoming move out, we've listed all closing related information on this page.

All residence halls close May 1st at 10am.
All residents must check out within 24 hours after their last final.
Students needing to stay past their checkout period in any capacity must complete a late stay request – including those who wish to stay for TSGB Summer Sea Term.
Late stay requests are due Friday, April 25th.
Late stay requests must be approved, and may have additional costs.
Residents who receive approval for late stay will receive a separate email with checkout information and instructions.
The link to the late stay request form has been sent to your CSUM account.
Your RA will post specific checkout information throughout your residence hall, including how to sign up for a checkout time. This information will begin to go up next week with the checkout period beginning April 25th.
If you plan to checkout before this date, please contact your RA as soon as possible.
Your room should be returned to its original state, in clean condition, following the instructions below.
Your checkout should be your last housing related item as you will not be able to return. If you have a physical key, your RA will collect it during your checkout.
Residence Life does not collect mailbox keys – please return them to the mailroom. Leaving your mailbox key will not count as returning it to the mailroom, and you may be charged for a key replacement.
Residents who do not follow checkout procedures will incur a $50 improper checkout fee, in addition to any extra charges necessary.
Remove all personal items from your room. No items may be left behind.
- Micro fridge defrosted and cleaned (door open, left unplugged).
- Floor swept or vacuumed.
- All drawers emptied and cleaned.
- All personal items removed from bathroom.
- All surfaces cleaned (desk, dresser, wardrobes, windowsills, bed platform, etc.).
- Windows cleaned and locked.
- Beds returned to the lowest level.
- All trash removed from room and bathroom.
- Room furniture must be set to the original room layout.
Extra dumpsters will be outside the residence halls in the parking lots. Trash left in the hallways or stairwells will result in community fines.
Residence Life Professional Staff will inspect every residential space on campus after checkouts have completed.
All room damages will be assessed and billed accordingly to your student account.

In most cases, you should contact your RA for checkout related items.
However, you may also contact your Residence Life Coordinator for your building for additional information / support.
